I'm still on the job hunt, no matter how much effort I seem to put into every job application I do, it never seems to pay off. I think we should be able to find out who actually gets the jobs we apply for, so we know what exactly we're up against!
The problem is, I'm now at the point where I'm struggling to focus on applying, it's like I just don't care any more. If it's a lengthy application process with tasks and forms I'm much less likely to bother. I've spent hours, days even, filling out applications and haven't even received rejection emails, so how am I supposed to find the drive to carry on?

I'd much rather sit and send off a few CVs, watch Maury on TV and play some of the hundreds of DS games I've downloaded onto my new R4 card, that sounds much less soul-destroying.

Funny coincidence of the day: I was moaning earlier that I needed a Rowan Dartington fund to tap into to finance this job hunting and baneful internship phase of my life, and now I've ended up applying for a job at the place!
I've been applying for IT jobs all over the place, and they just happen to need and IT technician so I've forwarded over my CV!

I've been on an absolute application frenzy today. I've sent a ton of CVs around, and I've filled in an amazing four application forms, and we all know they take absolutely ages to fill in. I think I'm an expert at them now. Or maybe I'm the opposite of an expert because I still haven't been hired by anyone, but I'm certainly faster at the whole application process.
Surely the more applications I send off, the more chance I have of getting a job, right?

I was just reading a graduate forum for job hunting tips when I came across one thread all about when people got their first proper full-time graduate jobs after university.
The good news, a lot of people do get jobs in the field they trained in and are aiming for, but the bad news is that for some people it takes a long, long time. The average was around three years. Yes, you read it right: THREE YEARS!

I thought I'd be working within 6 months or so after graduation like our tutors said we would. But blimey it's ridiculous. I seem to have to just keep going out and doing more unpaid work placements until I get the job I deserve.
The worst part is how hard it is to live without a wage, and unfortunately I don't have my own personal Rowan Dartington investment fund to tap into and finance me through all of this unpaid so-called 'career building' waste of time!

I am so annoyed! I have hunting for a job for the past two months and I have only managed to get one interview.
My CV is full of skills including knowledge on computer servers, managed hosting and load balancing. But I still can’t get anything.
I am looking for a job in IT. I knew it was going to be hard, with the current economic climate, but it would be nice if I got some feedback and some acknowledgement of my CV being received by employers.
To not get any kind of hints or things I should change is so unhelpful and it is very depressing. Constantly being disappointed.
Nowadays, having a job you like and enjoy is very hard to find. You should think yourself very luck if you do!

This weekend has been such a nightmare! I ended up going out on Saturday night and getting a little tipsy…well a lot really! And I lost my camera battery.
I know you are thinking how the hell did you do that? Well I am thinking the same! I have no idea!
I must have taken it out – maybe it had run out of something – and not put it back in again or it dropped out!
So now I have a camera, a memory card and camera case but not battery! It won’t work! And I have no idea if I can buy just a camera battery for my make of camera! Oh dear!
